Subject:                Whether a bankrupt is entitled to discharge of student loans under S.178(1.1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.

 

Summary:             Bankrupt has three student loans which were not discharged by his assignment.  He had had a significant period of unemployment during which he had resorted to use of credit.  He paid what he could on the loans.  His present employment will end shortly and he is yet to find new employment.

 

Result:                  Relief granted.
