LIBRARY HEADING

Judge:                         The Honourable Justice Theresa M. Forgeron

Heard:                                    February 18, 2011, in Sydney, Nova Scotia

Oral and Written Decision:   February 21, 2011

Subject:                                   Family Law

Issues:                                    Interim parenting

Result:                                    Although the status quo favored the mother, who had been the primary care parent, the father was granted interim primary care in the best interests of the children because of the mother’s abuse of alcohol and drugs.  The father had been an involved co-parent and was able to provide more stable parenting to the young children, including meeting the special needs of the son.
