Subject:                       Application for spousal support after an 11 year delay.

 

Summary:                   Applicant and respondent met when the applicant was placed in the respondent’s brother’s home to assist with child care.  The applicant was 14 years old and the respondent was 18.  Four children were born of this union.  The parties married when the applicant was 16.  They  lived together for 27 years and separated in 1999.  In August 2011, the applicant applied for spousal support. 

 

Result:                        The effect of delay in applications for spousal support was  reviewed.  An award of $800.00 per month spousal support for an indefinite period of time.
