Summary: The husband and wife were married for 15 years. There were no children of the marriage. The wife is currently 54 years of age and has limited education and employment skills. She works seasonally and collects EI for most of the year. Husband works full-time and now co-habits with another person who also works full-time. The wife’s financial situation is not likely to improve.

Result: The husband was ordered to reimburse the wife $1,902.00 for a matrimonial debt she was forced to pay despite the husband’s written undertaking to be solely responsible for its repayment. Retroactive spousal support of $200.00 per month back to date of filing the interim application; on-going spousal support of $450.00 per month along with requirement to continue coverage for wife under husband’s health plan.
